In the last few weeks, heavy rain has caused flooding in huge areas of Colombia, leading the government to declare a state of national emergency.
On December 9 in the area of Bogotá, the rains caused flooding and landslides.
Under the leadership of Telespazio Brasil, e-GEOS tasked the COSMO-SkyMed satellite over the area.
Over the next ten days, satellite coverage will be provided of an area extending over approximately 65,000 sqkm.
The local Instituto Geográfico Agusíín Codazzi (IGAC) will exploit the data and monitor the evolution of the flooding, thanks to the unique revisit performance of COSMO-SkyMed.
