Macquarie Island Marine Protected Area, Australia

The Royal Penguin was last assessed for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2021. It breeds only on Macquarie Island, Australia, both on the coast and up to 1.5 km inland, and on Bishop and Clerk Islands. Formerly assessed as Vulnerable, it is now no longer considered a threatened species. It is classified as Least Concern
