The Mallorcan Midwife Toad was last assessed for the IUCN Red List in 2020. The numbers of this animal fell sharply as a result of predation, competition with introduced species and the continuing decline in the quality of its habitat. Newly created breeding habitats are not maintained, which is a further threat to these toads. It is classified as Endangered.
