Parco Lombardo Valle del Ticino, Italy

The Adriatic Sturgeon was last assessed for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2019. It is endemic to the Adriatic Sea, where potential breeding populations are now restricted to the Po River in Italy. The reintroduced and the (possible) residual wild populations are thought to be recovering in Italy, but there is no certainty regarding their viability in the future. It is classified as Critically Endangered.
